Tbh idk why Pep is not regularly playing Phil, Phil isn’t overrated and he always performs to a super high level, he’s done nothing to be deserved to be dropped, he performs in almost game he plays, maybe he’s lazy in training but I doubt it, idk why Pep isn’t playing him regularly but the talent is there to see, he has the talent to win a ballon d or and his performances are always consistent, I usually always trust Pep but I do think he’s making a mistake with Phil, he’s one of our best players and I’m really unsure what Peps deal is when it comes to Foden. I’m starting to wonder if Pep just doesn’t rate British attacking players that much and is benching Phil because he thinks he won’t maximise his potential because he doesn’t trust British midfielders idk. It’s weird man, Phil hasn’t done anything to deserve such little playing time. I don’t want him to leave City but he might have to for the good of his career.
I could definitely see him playing for City alongside stars such as De Bruyne, Haaland and Alvarez though he wants to play up front centrally I think and with city he’d be more likely used as a right side forward, which he can also play but centre forward seems to be his preference.
