Well I’m keeping an eye on that. Could be intrigued, if the Kickstarter sounds half decent I’ll back it. Love discworld. The idea of a game system built around messing with language and making puns sounds great.

I really want to get my hands on Mothership, I watched the Quins quest review on it and was sold immediately. Trouble is shipping it to the UK is stupid expensive so I’m waiting for somewhere local to get stock. Glad to hear it’s good fun to play. Did you run a pregen or make your own scenario?
I’ve been playing Rogue Trader, really enjoying it so far. I’ve also gotten myself a harmonica and started learning to play that, I’m still at the nursery rhymes stage but it’s good to make music again.
Genuinely my favourite gaming moment. Nothing before or since from the medium has made me feel as much as that sequence. It’s just fantastic. If you game at all you need to try it.
We had a long weekend in the UK. The weather was surprisingly reasonable as well, it only rained on Saturday. It’s always nice to have longer off work.
Thanks not sure if it was the dyslexia or the autocorrect which got me that time.
I think that’s maybe a bit harsh compared to a lot of the games mentioned here. Witcher 1 definitely has a lot of problems compared to 2 and 3 but it had a lot going for it as well. Sure the combat was broken as hell once you got all the spinning moves and it was super sexist with the women as trading cards thing. But the story and world building were still fun and Geralt was well characterised. It’s not a great game but it did well enough to get them the sequels. Definitely nowhere near the worst game I’ve played.
And party on dude! I came here to say this. It’s such an easy tenant to live by. The world would be a better place if everyone really took it to heat.
You have made a solid impulse buy. I love my steam deck as does my wife. If you get a dock you can also use it as a regular laptop too.
Oh god the handover after your first long drive into VR is something else. Nothing felt real for me for a good few hours. Super weird experience.
Damn 1/3rd scale. So like 1-2 foot tall? Fair play. Nier Automata was one of my favourite gaming experiences, so many feels. I love the end sequence more than about any other gaming moment.
Talk to your Dr again. Antifungal tablets have a not insignificant chance of messing with your liver, ie permanent damage so you should avoid them if you can.
Oh that’s fun! Do you have a suitable amount of pun equivalents of your local shops and landmarks?
My previous game was Dresden files accelerated where we played in the late 90s version of our town. My players burned down the pub. It was a good laugh.
Snowdon is a good walk. Cool place for a concert too.
Yeah I’d probably do the same with the lakes. I might even go over the border to Scotland and just live in the middle of nowhere.
That sounds fun. We always play theatre of the mind with maybe some simple maps if there’s a lot going on.
I’m currently running a game of Spire the City must fall. Not been playing it long but already loving the characters my players have made. It’s a really dense setting so I’m running a module and keeping them mostly in a couple areas of the city to make things easier for me. The system is pretty interesting though I’d recommend it.
What are you playing? I hope it goes well.
North Wales or somewhere around the Lake District. I love the mountains and the sea. I’m planning to retire to the North (eventually, if I live long enough and it’s a financial option).
God yes, I got the most recent Destiny update free from PS plus recently and thought what the hell I’ll give it a go. The onboarding process was atrocious, very little explanation for anything at all just assumes you know who all the people are and are keeping up with the lore. Virtually no tutorial. I turned it off again after 5 minutes.
Yes I’m theory but it’s very difficult / unlikely to happen.
My main issue with games as a whole currently is that they often don’t respect my time. J-RPGs are probably the worst genre for that with the expectation of grinding being baked in. Take persona 5, I loved the style and the characters were engaging but the gameplay was very repetitive and grindy. I didn’t feel like I was making progress. After I beat the first dungeon I felt like I’d seen everything the game had to offer and turned it off.
I enjoy western RPGs more because they often (not always) respect my time better. I replayed Dragon age Inquisition recently and that game was right on the borderline of not respecting my time. I played it way closer to release and burned out by spending 40 hours in the starting area doing fetch quests. On this play through I focused on the story and only did side quests I found interesting. It was much better but still right on the limit of wasting my time for a decent chunk of it’s runtime.
Same. I enjoyed a lot of what I played but I don’t get on well with metroidvanias. So I only played a couple of hours before I either got lost or died too often to a boss.
