28 now is not 28 then. He is regarded as one of the best players ever. He’s hardly a what if. The suggestion of a what if is that they may have achieved great things ‘if’ something else happened. But he did achieve great things.
Why would he be regarded as a what if? he was extremely accomplished, lots of players didn’t do much further than 30 in those days so he had most of his career
just thinking outside the box…KSA…can see them naturalising lots of good young players if their league becomes popular
