Our local radio station has all the shows within that genres of music they play, on thier website. I also somehow got signed up for emails from the only venue in town that would host the other genre I listen to.
I wouldn’t be interested in much else. I’m not heart broken to not learn Taylor Swift is comming to town…
I get the feeling they’re talking about all the publicity around coal in the past few days.
Germany is dismantling windmills to expand a coal mine. A state in the US gave the go ahead to restart a power plant (and supposedly turn it into a hydrogen plant eventually) , and another state is expanding mines. Australia approved enough new mines to add another 150 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. Canada is expanding exports of thermal coal. Not to mention, China and India using a bunch of coal in general.
These are all headlines I’ve seen, in like the past week. Even though demand for coal hasn’t really ceased, it seems like recently, there’s a renewed push.
Ok so I made one of both the front and the back. I might have gone a little overboard with the back side.
My phone does bad in lower lighting so it may be too bright to really give it that nice flash, but hopefully it’s not to bad.
I made a giphy account so hopefully this works, as I couldn’t upload it straight to the site.
Edit: it uploaded all fuzzy cause it told me my internet connection was slow…but the SO can play Call of Duty just fine…
I’m unsure of this was cut into its shape or if grows naturally like this. The top of this is much more neat and squared then other examples I’ve seen online. Although, I did see that it becomes pretty brittle with heat, so if it was cut, i suppose it would have taken a real good technique…

Not just dallas, but Houston and Austin, as well. San antonio was about to follow suit, until this passed.
Yeah, i would never attempt to shape it more. I’m totally afraid it would just crumble. It wouldn’t even be close to useable.
Super brave of you to try that. Although I bet it did look pretty awesome.
Sometimes I think of trying to shape other stones, especially ones that have already broken, but with my hoarder tendencies, im scared I would break it more and be left with nothing.
I always thought it looked like a knife…
But why put a clear coat on it? Is it a wax, like one would use on jade?
Its been bugging me. Hope your having fun, and you find lots of cool flint!
This is pretty cool. It’s good to know there are locations open to the public where one can go and test their luck.
Only place I heard of before this, was the diamond field in Arkansas.

Should be pretty straight forward.
Sticking with metal names, although this one contains no actual bronze.
Its definitely lightweight, although the pieces are small, so its a little hard to tell. Maybe half cm, tops.
But, I could scratch it with a penny, and write on paper like it was a pencil, too.
If it quacks like a duck…
Thanks :)
Also I have this (hopefully shown in a picture below) that is unlabeled. I guess this is more what I expected Galena to look like. Do you think this is also Galena, or something else?
I did think about mentioning that, but I wasn’t sure it fit the typical description of Galena. All the examples have larger formations. I did see that native lead was rare, but I did pick it up years ago…one can dream, haha. At least I can label it properly now though, thanks!
Dang, hematite? That’s just not right.
Side note: are the magazine pictures different from a regular post? Not sure I see the one you added.
That sounds awesome!
Hey flint is pretty in its own right. Most people just think two rock you hit together, but it does come in bunches of colors. And they’re just the right shape for a worry type stone if you find the right one
I would excited too! You gotta know what to look for, I sure wouldn’t.
This would be a dream.
Tell that to every kid in Texas, that the teacher ever made write “yall is not a word” on the blackboard 100 times.
