The government isn’t getting anything out of it. The money technically isn’t theirs. It’s frozen assets, not seized. They are just refusing to unfreeze it until there’s some proof that Abramovich is actually going to do with it what he promised, and that it isn’t secretly helping the Russian war effort.

The guy we signed to be our best new attacker, Nkunku, got injured before the season began so people act like we didn’t bother to sign any striker/striker-esque player, when we actually did and for a decent price too.

Also, Caicedo is actually really good. I’m constantly surprised by how good he is, and considering his age and the length of his contract, the price we paid will soon be irrelevant.
