This is why people should stop recommending Arch. Fedora or Opensuse TW should be recommended instead for new people.
  • Fedora has better than Ubuntu/Mint hardware compatibility these days, so I'd argue it's a reasonable recommendation, especially if the user isn't going to need nonfree video codecs, but even if they do, adding that in Fedora is going to be easier than upgrading your Ubuntu/Mint kernel so you can use your video card that's too new.

  • If the neo-lib capitalists would just chose a prominent communist to take over there wouldn't be any issue.
  • Yes, so many prominent progressives have called for Biden to step down such as... Ber... no... AO... no... Corey... no... hmmn... Is it possible that this is an instance of a neoliberal instinctively punching left with zero thought? SURELY not, that would be so out of character for them!

  • What are some unwritten rules of the Fediverse? I came from reddit so its a bit different for me.
  • Don't say anything to trigger Blue MAGA unless you want to have posts (or your whole account) falsely reported as being a bot and blocked by the mods and/or be in a constant screaming match with people who think Joe Biden is a GOD and only your lack of faith can fail him.

  • Who else is it going to take?
  • Would he have "incumbency advantage" if were literally known to be dead? What about a vegetative state? At what level of decline between Biden now and literally dead do you think the state of the candidate overwhelms the incumbency advantage?

  • That sickening feeling of sunk cost fallacy
  • I think the COVID is a smokescreen so he can avoid more embarrassing public appearances between now and when Donna Brazil can rig up the extra early online delegate count to seal the deal and make it too late.

  • bUt BoTh SiDeS dA sAmE
  • When your support for a mismanaged DNC leads to the GOP having a congressional majority that can pass constitutional amendments, you and your cousin are going to have a bad time. When that happens maybe you'll realize you should have pointed your vitriol at the party and not the people warning that the party was walking off a cliff.

  • bUt BoTh SiDeS dA sAmE
  • I mean, even assuming the senator from MBNA, as Biden was known because of his lockstep support of the banks, suddenly found Jesus right now and decided to do Nixon-style price controls (which is farcical but whatever) do you think THIS Supreme Court would say that the president has the power to do Nixon-style price controls still? There's literally no way. MAYBE for Trump, sure as shit not for Biden.

  • Still Makes A Difference
  • You could in some states. In states with a strong enough of a democrat monopoly, the party picks candidates ala the CCP, and destroys anyone who dares compete (like the NY dems did to Scott Stringer for daring to run against the anointed Eric Adams).
