  • Ol’ Red Nose was a strict manager but it worked so you can’t argue with the results. That being said in the documentary as well throughout Becks does suggest that Fergie is like a second father to him.

    You can see with alot of successful players through United’s history that despite SAF’s need to control he also empowers them as players. He basically convinces every United player that it’s a privilege to wear the red shirt. You look at John O’Shea who was at the club for over a decade mostly as a back up for whoever but he never complained and he was good enough to move to another club to be a nailed on starter but he stayed at United and I feel that’s largely down to Fergie persuading him that nowhere else will be good enough
