A lot of vices these days are incredibly expensive. Drugs, drinking, gambling etc. footballers don’t really care about it being expensive so it’s easy for them to get drawn in and addicted. They can’t really choose the drugs or drinking these days because their performances will drop way too much as athletes. Gambling is a natural draw to them, it’s part of the football culture too.
