frustrated tbh mate. he was the first appointment we had in years where i actually thought “we might make something of this.” he gave me more confidence than even warnock and warburton did after the same period of time.
we were very well suited to eachother, a club where he could cut his cloth and a club that would have been patient and supportive of him. its a large part of the reason we’re in the mess we’re in now.
he was held in such high esteem after turning down the wolves job but to leave only 6 weeks later after preaching about loyalty and integrity left a real sour taste in the supporters mouths.
i’m over the moon that he’s been sacked and that his stock both as a manager and as a person has taken a hit.
that being said though i do still rate him as a manager and i’d be surprised if he didn’t bounce back after this.
all respect to sheff utd, it wouldn’t be a good career move for ramsdale. he had notable questions being asked but he still performed better than expected for arsenal over the past 2 years given that he was relegated 2 years in a row.
on his day theres an argument that he should be englands number 1. gone off the rails a bit this year but could get into most of the recent top 10 sides. if you take last seasons table for example and assuming he refinds form he could be an upgrade or at least as good as fulham, brentford, brighton and newcastles keepers
