To retain the asset and use him as a backup and then eventually sell him if he doesn’t win the fight for the starting position.

It’s only an extra year and would Aaron and his father rather be sitting on the bench on whatever he got when we were out of Europe or on a CL level contract?
His father thinks that because he’s not privy to the discussions that go on in the club. Even then, we extended Ramsdale, then Turner pushed to leave, opening the door to get Raya done. it’s not like we extended Ramsdale with the express intent of immediately benching him.
