minus-squarelud@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4arrow-down11·edit-211 months agoLots of ads Edit: also tv news is also a new concept.
minus-squareSpaceNoodle@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6arrow-down2·11 months agoRight, so ads aren’t a recent development.
minus-squarelud@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1arrow-down2·11 months agoAds have existed for an extremely long time. And most news has cost money since forever. Tv news is a relatively new development and TV news is entirely founded by ads and as a way to drive viewers to a channel to keep them for other programmes.
minus-squareSpaceNoodle@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3arrow-down2·11 months agoTV news is 80 years old. It’s far from new.
minus-squarelud@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1arrow-down3·11 months agoAgain, that was not my point.
minus-squareSpaceNoodle@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2arrow-down2·11 months agoNot sure why you keep stating it.

minus-squareSpaceNoodle@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2arrow-down1·11 months agoBecause you keep insisting on repeating falsehoods.
minus-squareSpaceNoodle@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3arrow-down2·11 months agoHow is something 80 years old “new?”
minus-squarelud@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1arrow-down4·11 months agoRelatively new compared to news. Either way it doesn’t matter, my point was that it’s funded by ads. Tv news also drives viewers to a channel which is probably the main purpose of it.
