I’ve been a Manchester United fan since 2019 and know it’s depressing to support after years

I was wondering if I should continue being a United fan or quit being a United fan and instead support a rival team

I would much appreciate all the help

All you’ve known is your club being bad unless it was a typo and you mean 2009 and not 2019

Ah you’ll be grand switching pal. Don’t be depressed. Find a club that has some meaning to you. Not one because its winning. Like one that’s local to you, one your family follows, one who has the most local players. Follow them. Does not need to be in the Premierleague either. Don’t take sport so serious. It’s only sport.

I’m a United fan and I think you should quit.

You’re not a real United fan if you are considering supporting someone else through a rough patch. We don’t want you.

    Quit.

Keep supporting, football is about the social life and togetherness, that’s the point of supporting your team

If you’re English and you feel this way, go to your local team’s games, this could be where you live or where you’re born

Being a football fan is about having atleast a shred of hope and optimism. It’s what makes losing games tolerable.

What the glazers have done is robbed Utd fans of that optimism with the cycle of failure they have installed. What makes it worse for Utd in particular is that the media and rival fans still see them as a Real Madrid level club so set expectations that they will never reach, and come down on them like a tonne of bricks when they fail.

Wouldn’t blame you in the slightest if you stopped being a fan. Just don’t support a different English club is all I would say. Maybe follow French football or something.
