I’m 17 and a high school student. I recently started watching football and want to start playing myself, completely from scratch. Can anyone guide me on how I can learn it? And is it too late for me to start now?

Look you are not going pro but you can improve enough to be a decent player in a Sunday league team.

My advice would be to focus on ball mastery first. That means just practice being in control of the ball in different situations. A lot of people would focus on passing/shooting which is important, but you can’t pass or shoot if you don’t control the ball beforehand. Wether it is during a dribble or with a first touch after receiving/intercepting the ball.

There are several ways to improve ball mastery. Wiel Coërver has produced a method that is used all over the world to improve this with exercises you can do alone or with teammates. If you search YouTube you will find examples enough.

Once you have a decent ball mastery you can practice everything else.
