What do you think about Mourinho’s statements on La Liga’s lack of competitiveness ?

“I was in Spain, but I didn’t enjoy it because I won a title with a record of 100 points and 121 goals, but we played only three or four competitive matches all season. There is a big, big gap between the giants and the others."

“This season I rested a few players against Bradford and I lost against Bradford. And that is English football. You are winning 2-0 and you concede a goal you know you are going to have hell for the last few minutes and you might draw 2-2 and lose two points,”

“This is the reality of the Premier League. You have no time. It’s not just about the number of matches, it’s the intensity. And it’s not just physical intensity, you feel the intensity mentally.

“I think the difference between the two leagues [Premier League and La Liga] is huge. Would they [Barcelona and Real Madrid] win the Premier League? Maybe yes. Maybe not.”

Villareal are horrid, and Betis, Athletic club and Girona usually get smashed by the big teams, as you said they arent palace/wolves level yet wolves, palace even Fulham are in the bottom half of the prem and the spanish teams are top 7. There are miles between laliga and prem.

Sociedad is currently leading in a CL group in front of Inter, Salzburg and Benfica. :)

As a Salzburger I can tell you, they were our toughest opponent in the last years.

I think top 5 is real, barca, atletico, girona and sevilla but for spanish competition all games feel underwhelming compared if we see spanish teams against giants in champions league and europa.

In fault is the financial system of laliga, not rly blaming the teams that the money distribution is horrendous.

Premier league and germany take tons of money from tv rights and their own stadiums, spain and italy are lacking way behind in quality and also good players not wanting to play there, investment in mid teams is lacking severely because lack of funds.
