As the title says my faithful note 10+ is kinda destroyed I dropped it in the river months ago it’s been working but no battery % I changed the battery and no % still and it dies extremely fast. With black Friday deals finally looking to upgrade stuck between 2 phones open to more.

My current favorites are the 23 ultra going for about 900. And the fold 5 going for 100 more than the 23.

I don’t know much about either but I have extremely poor eye sight so I’ve been leaning to the fold just so I can watch YouTube without my glasses on and kinda be able to make out whats going on.

But I’m open to either. I take photos but nothing crazy. I’m decently active but my note 10 will be sticking around for when I go do lake days/ as a ipod for music. Owners of either/ people who have owned both would love to hear your thoughts. Things you like things you don’t like. Also my niece loves to draw on my phone so if I do go with the fold I’d like to know how the s pen accessory is compared to the normal s pen.

I liked my S22u so much I didn’t upgrade to the s23U and they are similar and powerful. Probably will go with the S24 U in a couple months when it’s out. As far as the folds, I liked them but not the narrow front screen. If screen size is more important than the camera go for the fold. Photography isn’t bad but not quite what the ultras offer. Either way both choices will be a big upgrade over your past phone.

The cameras don’t really mean much too me. But the durability is a concern and the usability of the fold 5 with 1 hand being very cumbersome. I’m probably gonna have the phone for 5 years if not longer. My main drive for upgrading is the constant 1% and my type c port wearing out I never know when this one is going to die. Usually isn’t a problem except today it died when I was at the mall watching 2 kids with no way of contacting their parents. I think the s23 is probably gonna be what I get. The fold is very cool. But I guess it’s not really practical. I don’t ever multi task that’s what mainly kills it for me as that’s the only thing besides watching movies that people bring up as reasons to get the fold. The form factor as I mentioned is a big point since I have extremely bad vision. But I don’t think it’s worth all the sacrifice. Thank you for the input!

Agreed i dont see no point in foldables nowadays unless improve the durability and the camera quality and also u get less battery capacity 5000mah vs 4400mah a significant difference and not to mention my little brother has the z fold 5 and recently the other screen the large one just recently got a big line this is why i only see the flip as a good option but also not very great but hey the s23 ultra has amazing battery life i get 12 hours of battery life 6 and hours of screen on time and 6 hours of screen off time

Fold outer screen is more one hand useable than the ultra phones

As for durability the folds are tanky as long as you don’t hit the inner screen or get the phone super dirty/submerge in water you’ll be fine. The real problems are when you get screen failures and don’t have Samsung care+, but that stuff is more random chance than user error
