Ramsdale did a lot better in the second half and credit to him for coming back from such a nervy start. But honestly if he stays with us then he’s just going to be a target. Opposition teams and fans will target him because they know he’s a potential weak link.
Unfortunately; as much as I like the lad, there’s no way he doesn’t get moved on in January or summer at the latest.
Agreed, I love the lad but last night highlighted how he doesn’t fit how we want to play anymore. He clearly put himself under too much pressure and it showed in that first half.
I hope he moves on quickly for his own sake.
This is the exact same situation as Raya vs City. Big early mistakes before growing into the game.
Yet no one talked about a Raya being targeted as a weak link.
Lol plenty of people were asking for Ramsdale back. It’s clearly just nerves for both keepers. Playing time should fix that confidence. If it doesn’t, then bench one for the other.
I will die on the hill that Ramsdale is the superior keeper and we will regret pushing him out for Raya. He’s as good or better at every aspect of goalkeeping other than distribution and the way he feeds off big moments to build momentum or get under opponents’ skins is a huge miss.
Nah, his biggest weakness surfaced: mentality. Unless he managed to get over it, I doubt he will be better than Raya.
