I would say 2002. Lots of upsets and therefore just a handful marquee matches. South Korea shady wins. Pretty boring semis and final.

    I’m only a casual watcher but that year had some pretty cool storylines iirc.

    The Belgian golden generation, Croatia’s impressive consistency, Germany completely flopping out, and the first time Kylian Mbappe showed himself in the worldcup

    Also I keep thinking about that 4-2 France v Argentina game
