I would say 2002. Lots of upsets and therefore just a handful marquee matches. South Korea shady wins. Pretty boring semis and final.

Most people say 1990. Lowest goals ever at 2.21 per game and lots of penalty shootouts.

2002 is most rigged, which is definitely not boring.

How could u call it uneventful/boring when there were a lot of upsets?

for me it was the qatar world cup, it just felt scripted to let messi win and france was so dominant they knocked out everyone else.

2010 was a snoozefest until the knockouts, then exploded. The final typified the entire tournament.

I found the 2010 World Cup boring as hell, and I’m talking about the football. Everything else vibes, and all that 10/10 for me

Also Qatar, only got good after the round of 16

I don’t think anyone else can back you up on Qatar, just Group E alone was better than some entire world cups. The tournament being in the middle of the season gave us the most fit teams we’ve ever had… and the most injuries later.

2010 was my least favourite. The fly-away ball, those hellish horns, and mostly, the games were pretty woeful in the beginning. It got a little better as it went on but wasn’t a great tournament overall.

2010 World Cup the quality of play was so dull lot of 0-0 and 1-0 it did pick up a bit in the knockout stages but that wasn’t enough. The final exemplified the tournament a total snoozefest.

I did like the vibes, music and atmosphere though I even liked the vuvuzuela.

22 was the worst I think. Qatar being a terrible location, the migrant labour issues and except the final most game were boring. Not to mention Argentina being given easy fouls to make Messi win.

2010 by some distance. South Africa did a fine job as hosts but on the pitch it wasn’t great. A lot of the bigger nations were transitioning between eras or declining. Too many dull, low scoring games.

Some might say that 1990 was pretty bad for the quality of football played and was the trigger for banning the back pass to the keeper.

But it was the first World Cup I was able to watch in it’s entirety aged 10, so it always has a special place in my heart!

For me 1990 was the first WC I followed as a kid with real interest. And so many legends were playing. No way, 1990 will always hold a place in my heart.
