It’s everywhere. From images, to videos, to Tiktoks, to adverts … I’m over saturated with opinions, replays, player ratings, hyperbole and the like.

There’s only so much you can take.

Example 1. The Newcastle goal vervus Arsenal. Never ending discussions on the decision. The hyperbolic nature of the punditry. The uneven opinions of the same people.

Example 2. Handball against Newcastle. Hundreds of videos all moaning, complaining over and over again. The same pundits complaining and restarting their opinion.

And now the new one - the ref not giving Man City an advantage in the Tottenham game. It starts all over again. The videos, the complaining, the shouting Tiktoks…

I just don’t care anymore.

Rational discussions are gone, replaced with hyperbole and drama.

It’s too much. I can’t watch any football related content anymore.

The only thing to do is to shut it all out but the commentary is just as bad.

All the media noise about football makes it seem like the most important thing in the world. The smug self importance of people like gary neville and simon jordan doesn’t help matters. In the grand scheme of things football is not important. When it comes down to it it is just a game

Just watch the games and don’t get on social media if you follow a lot of football related accounts that do that stuff that your describing. Including this subreddit tbh, sometimes I just watch the match and look at my FotMob app to check scores and that’s it.

Just avoid the opinions man. I as a standard tend to block channels posting “reaction” videos when they get recommended. I really don’t get why anyone would give a damn how random twenty year old Tommy from Tamworth feels about a match. Ex professional, I might give it a bit more time.

Watch the game, and other highlights and then stop. It’s all click bait anyway for views and stupid statements made on purpose to wind people up.

Footballs boring it’s like a rollercoaster up down up down some teams just aren’t worth watching. Also you can sit there for 90 min and not a single goal I can’t be bothered with it

How about instead of giving up football, just give up social media outlets?? They seem to be damaging the things you enjoy.

Watch football games but fuck the pre and post build up, fuck football related youtube videos, twitter and tiktok… actually just fuck tiktok off altogether.

second this. I do not use Tiktok but I know it is full of hate speech under Chinese propaganda. There is nothing wrong with football from what op said. Maybe Ref is a problem but the bigger problem is the op obsession with social media.

      Yes this.

They all do it for the outraged click bait revenue.

At a massive cost to societies values

Exactly! Nobody is forced to watch anything. Elements of A Clockwork Orange have come true, but not that one.

      This is what I do.

Helps living stateside. Plus the games get over really early in the day and you (possibly) aren’t shitfaced when they’re done.

Ha! this post is hyperbole, and everything you are moaning about so dramatically can be solved by literally not reading or listening to your phone. It’s got nothing to do with the football on the pitch or the game itself. Get a grip.

Surprised that’s what annoys you… Not the hundreds of videos mentioning football and the comment section is just filled with “Messi Messi Messi…”

I watch the matches and the post game coverage on TV. I will check out a Reddit post if it catches my eye.

Everything else can fuck off. Especially TikTok.

I think you should just watch the games and nothing else. When the commentators start annoying me I turn the volume down and play relaxing music to keep my mood from dipping.

Just unsub from all football related news and content for a month and only chat with your mates about the games. That’s what I did during the 1-pt loss season a few years back and I’ve been a happier fan sincez
