Omfg, an extra starship trait and uni console are nothing to sneeze at. The power creep is real! My Klingon toon could use it.

Regarding the timing of this event: I guess now we know why they scheduled the Star Trek Day celebration a month ahead of 9/8. There’s some neat stuff in this update. Now if they would just fix the damn eyebrow beam-out bug that has been in the game since launch, that would be great, yeah.

I’m concerned that the two TFO’s are just reskins. I’ll play the mission and probably work toward the ground set though.

Reskins? Sheeeit, I hope not. I’ll play everything, won’t get the ground set as I don’t play enough. Heh, there’s so much to grind…

It does seem like many of the missions and definitely the TFOs are reskins these days, but I think it’s fair to say that’s been the case since probably Gamma if not earlier and Gamma was an exception.
At the same time, the recent mission was a nice break from the constant shoot whatever warps in with a red square around it.

I’m still holding out hope for this arc/season. I think it’s intended as a break from the constant onslaught, but I could definitely be wrong. Either way, I too will work toward the ground set, upgrade my main ships, and keep on feeding the beast.

Ah. I was away for a hot minute, so basically everything released between 2014 and now is new to me lol. Eh, we’ll see what happens. Maybe the new TFOs will involve more than just shooting everything in sight.

Even if the TFOs are just shooting everything, that’s OK too, IMO. They seem to serve a function of mixing the player-base into common scenarios with the underlying goal being grinding marks and dilithium.

(FYI, for anyone reading this, Red Alerts – while redunant – are the best mark/min in-game followed by Random Advanced TFOs. And Red Alerts are also the best dil/min as well. Simply because of how quickly the Borg and Tholian Red Alerts can run and be replayed.)

I’d love for it to be a reskin of SB1. That’ll be an attention-free grind, about the same level of effort as was expended in creating yet another useless ground set. Just park the jellyship not far from the starbase, activate the F-U field and wait for the timer to tick down.

I’m a bit disappointed, last two years the 4th grind was an event ship. Looks like nothing to look forward to for the rest of this year’s mandogrinds.
