Wouldn’t it make sense to use the actual criteria used to decide if a player is an academy graduate for this graphic, not your own criteria of them joining before turning 15?

    Shit graphic yes I know

Not surprising at all to see Real Sociedad and Athletic at the top, they both have amazing academies. Osasuna also very high up which shows again that the Basque country is arguably the best talent development region in the world. Guys like Azpilicueta, Mikel Merino, Javi Martinez, Nico Williams, Raul Garcia all are Osasuna products, and Iker Munain & Iñaki Williams are both from Pamplona aswell even though they never played in Osasuna’s academy

A cool fact about Real Sociedad: They had the same Basque only policy as Athletic Club until 1989 when they broke it to sign John Aldridge. But even after that it took them a long time to start signing non Basque Spanish players. It wasn’t until 2001 when they signed their first ever non Basque Spanish player!
