What a huge overreaction
A bit much considering Bielsa has only been there a short period, before that Uruguay hadn’t been good in years
It’s like you can’t read and are arguing against thin air
Amazing first half can’t believe it is still 0-0. The fact that there was no stoppage time shows just how open and free flowing it has been. Almost no interruptions and both teams are restarting play quickly
I expected Girona to play well but Athletic have been superb so far aswell. And had the two clearest chances with De Marcos miss and Paredes free header
I wonder if people still live in 2010 or something thinking Mourinho would be some great coach for Brazil
People have been saying that for a decade. It should have happened by now
Hey, that is Luis Garcia Plaza’s massive Alaves to you ;)
Sweden always gave Spain tough games in recent years: 5 matches, 2 Spain wins, 1 Sweden win and 2 draws.
Sad to see how their form has dropped off a cliff since. And RIP the victims of course
How good is Joao Mario? Every time I watch Porto in the CL he looks impressive but I don’t see most matches
Roger Schmidt survives by the skin of his teeth, but honestly Benfica looked just as clueless as usual. Not once did they look capable of scoring against 10 men until the Neves equaliser
This might hurt them more than it helps them in the long run with Schmidt getting more time
Disappointing result for both teams, for Sevilla because we needed the win here and for Betis because they were the better team and had some pretty shocking misses. We were awful in the first half, improved second half but still I doubt we would have scored without Rakitic’s screamer
Diego Alonso on thin ice already with the stadium booing his substitutions, after two promising performances against Madrid and Arsenal at home we have now had 4 poor performances since. I don’t get why he played Oliver Torres on the wing or why he didn’t put some more creativity in midfield earlier. Suso could have been subbed on for Sow and played in the middle instead of taking Ocampos position
Great idea from our coach to rest Navas and play a youngster against Martinelli
Great stuff. Deserves more traction
This result massively flatters Benfica, it was men against boys apart from 10 minutes at the start of the second half. Merino’s disallowed goal was insanely unlucky and it’s kind of a bullshit rule since the ball was already going in without the handball. Then Brais misses a penalty
Without any exaggeration, it should have been 5-0 at half time
It’s ridiculous how good this team is, everyone else is done if the RFEF reforms actually work out. Even with all that chaos and with a cardboard cutout for a coach they became world champions lmao
Him and Javi Guerra are gems
There is nothing wrong with the quality of football, La Liga is currently quite comfortably ahead of Serie A in goals per game despite everyone wanking over the brilliant football being played over there. And even besides banal statistics like that the tactical and technical level is extremely high. I genuinely don’t think the league has ever been better from top to bottom if we are not only looking at the top teams
The refereeing I fully agree with though, they actively have made games worse for years now by blowing their whistle constantly and stopping play. It feels like games are more free flowing this season though but I have no idea if that is the refs letting more go or the teams are simply playing better football in spite of the officiating
Spain doing pretty good this season so far, and take into consideration that they have even played a match less with Maccabi Haifa-Villarreal being cancelled and they don’t have a team in Conference League. Should be further clear of third in reality without Atleti and Real Sociedad conceding late goals against Lazio/Inter and Sevilla being robbed by the referee against PSV
Only one defeat in Champions League so far which was Sevilla’s against Arsenal that easily could have ended in a draw. Otherwise Real Sociedad, Real Madrid and Barca have been pretty much perfect and Atleti are unbeaten aswell. If at least 4 out of 5 go through to knockout stages I would be decent enough
Lazio and Inter were REALLY close to losing though
He’s a top player, he was dominating in the CL knockout stages with Villarreal
