Hummels hat im Nationaltrikot jetzt auch nicht besonders überzeugt die zwei mal, die er in diesem Jahr dabei war. Rüdiger war nicht perfekt und hatte ganz sicher seine Fehler im Spiel, aber ich fand ihn in diesem Jahr von allen unseren Verteidigern noch am stärksten und sichersten. Aber wenn dann Leute wie Hummels, Süle, Schlotterbeck, Raum und Gosens noch fehlerhafter spielen, dann kann ein Rüdiger alleine auch nicht viel anrichten. Find das momentane Rüdiger Bashing arg übertrieben und viel zu sehr beeinflusst davon, einen passenden Sündenbock zu finden. Das reflektiert mMn überhaupt nicht die gezeigten Leistungen und Qualitäten, die ein Rüdiger definitiv zeigt und mitbringt und die die Nationalmannschaft auch braucht.

Die September-Oktober-November Länderspielpausen gibt es schon seit einer halben Ewigkeit. Das letzte mal, dass es das nicht gab, war wohl 1990. Aber da war es dann halt August-Oktober-Dezember. Auch an der Anzahl der Länderspielen pro Kalenderjahr hat sich nichts geändert. In turnierfreien Jahren gibts immer etwa 9-13 Spiele. 1995 waren es z.B 12 Spiele. 2001 und 2003 waren es 11. 2011 gabs 13. 2015 gabs 9. 2023 werden es am Ende 11 Spiele sein.

Stiller hat bei Hoffenheim in Ansätzen gezeigt, was er drauf hat. Erst in den letzten paar Monaten nach seinem Wechsel zu Stuttgart hat er angefangen konstant gut zu spielen. Wenn man ihn dann jetzt schon nominiert, geht man das Risiko ein, ihm zu viel auf einmal zuzumuten. Deshalb find ichs auch nicht schlimm, dass Maxi Beier nicht nominiert wurde, obwohl er es eigtl auch verdient hätte. Ihre Zeit wird noch kommen. Erstmal in Ruhe drauf konzentrieren sich in der Bundesliga zu etablieren.

Prömel macht Sinn, weil er schon viel länger und konstanter auf einem hohem Niveau spielt, das er auch momentan mehr oder weniger hält. Ist ähnlich wie bei Andrich oder Pascal Groß: eine Nominierung hatte sich schon lange angebahnt und war überfällig.

Spielt nicht so stark wie letzte Saison, deshalb kommt das etwas überraschend für mich. Was Tore und Vorlagen betrifft, ist er immer noch effizient und erfolgreich. Aber im Passspiel beim Aufbau und in der Defensive hat er auch einige schwache Momente gezeigt diese Saison. Alles in allem war Anton Stach der stärkere und wichtigere ZM/ZDM für Hoffenheim. Hätte gedacht, dass er über Prömel in der Rangordnung steht bei Nagelsmann. Aber gut, Prömel ist bei weitem kein schlechter. Gehört schon seit Jahren zu den besten der Liga auf seiner Position. Keine unverdiente Nominierung.

That initial save by Ochoa was fucking great. This is why we need a real striker like Füllkrug. Guy has that typical striker instinct to be at the right place at the right time. Important for rebound situations like this.
