Neil Mellor against Arsenal. If memory serves it was the game where Arshavin hit 4. Mellor banged one in from about 40 yards on the volley/half volley in the 90th minute.

David Silva was a complete master at that inverted pass where you slip the overlapping winger in when you’re on the edge of the box. Only a five/10 yard pass but extremely hard to get right.

I’d say Steven Gerrard could have played pretty much any position. The height an aggression of a cb, quick and fit enough for a wing back/winger. Great finisher. Obvs great box to box cm.

I really don’t think Pirlo was particularly well regarded at the time. I feel like only towards the end of his career did he get the love he deserved.
