  • That’s a tough run but if you want to be champs you’ll have to produce on runs like this.

Honestly I’d be disappointed if we don’t come away with 16 points come the end of 2023. Only games that worry me are Villa and Liverpool away. I think the home games need to be wins, no if’s or buts about it. Especially want to end this hoodoo with Brighton at the Emirates. Luton and Fulham also need to be 6 points, we can’t be dropping points there.

Great we got the CL top spot in the group sorted so we can rest quite a few first team players before that Brighton game. Liverpool to Fulham run is where Arteta will need to use the squad well.

  • Manninger remember he had some top performances for us during that double winning season in 98 when Seaman was out injured. Actually won PL player of the month in March 98 too.

Bounced around a few clubs after leaving Arsenal. Maybe had a his best run with Red Bull Salzburg and Sienna in Italy in mid 00’s. Actually went to Juventus as back up for Buffon and won a Seria title one season. Actually went to Liverpool as his last club before retiring

Schwartz, only played one season with us and had a falling out with Graham about defensive tactics and left for Italy. Ended up back in the PL with Sunderland when they were on a roll with Quinn/Philips partnership.

  • Actually won MLS Cup with New York City FC but supposedly was a bench player there. Even won a few trophies with Rangers in Scottish League actually made his most apps there then at any other club in his career so far.

He never look like he had stature or build for top level football and probably one of those that bought into his early hype.

  • Eisfeld was a team mate of Asano at VSF Bochum for a while. Actually played for Fulham for a season but only made 7 apps before been shipped on. Even with Bochum he only made like 104 apps over 6 seasons. He had a good run for his first two seasons or so before bad form and injury turned him into a bench player.

Now plays in the German third division with Rot Weiss Essen. Only 30 years old too.

  • During his loan spell with Feyenoord, the dutch press was been touted as the next Ronaldinho and as Japanese Messi.

Actully had a loan spell with Wigan when they went on to win FA Cup, but got injured before the final but won the Cup twice once with us and one with Wigan. Had a good loan spell at Bolton who were in the PL at the time and was named their player of the month twice. Then Went to Twente in Dutch league, then Arsenal sold him off. I don’t think it was all down to major injuries why Arsenal let him go. He probably just didn’t get to a level Arsenal expected from him.

It wasn’t until he went St. Pauli in Germany where he did cruciate ligament tears in both knees not that long apart from one another. His pace was his main strength and it probably took that away from him. He only made 80 apps over 6 seasons with them.

He went back to Japan but again did his cruciate ligament early into his career there. But he did win Japapese title there and still plays for Yokohama F Marinos and he’s only 30 years of age. Also only made 5 apps for Japan.

Sucks for him but the major injuries didn’t really happen until after he left Arsenal.

  • Actually had a decent career with Monaco with 91 apps and 25 goals but the rumour was he was signed to help build up the market for Arsenal in South Korea, don’t know how true that one is.

Didn’t really have much of a career in Europe after that, a loan spell with Celta Vigo and Watford didn’t do much for him.

Went back to South Korea and his first club FC Seoul and made 186 apps and scored only 42 goals. Still playing at 38. Had a strong international career with 24 goals from 68 internationals.

  • Larsson had a good career, pretty much played 70% of his time in England in the PL. Played 133 times for his country, when they were actually good. Made over 200 apps for Birmingham and Sunderland and 40 for Hull. Played PL football for Sunderland for his whole run and played three season for Birmingham in PL with two only in the Championship and all of his run with Hull in the Championship. I’d consider that a success.

Toral, had a decent run in Championship but never seemed to settle with one club. The fact he was shipped off to Greece and not with one of their biggest clubs is pretty telling and he was only 26. Seems to be playing regularly for that side.

  • Fran Merida maybe not turned out to be the next Fabregas but has had a decent career overall. Mostly played with lower level La Liga teams and their version of Championship, plays now in the Chinese League. Seem to remember him kicking up a fuss at Arsenal about game time. Went to Atletico Madrid only played 20 times there, and had a loan spell with Real Sociedad while at Arsenal. But that’s as high level as it got for him.

  • Was highly rated, left Chelsea (who were pissed he left as he won young player of the year there ) to go to Arsenal to get game time and Wenger barely played him. Played one season with Portsmouth, won a FA Cup and then was sold onto Real Madrid the following season. Played Five seasons there as a mostly squad player but then went to Russia when they were paying crazy money to players. Went to Marseille and played a few seasons there. Finished his career with PSG.

Made over 30 apps for France too. Won a quite a few trophies everywhere he went.

  • His brothers are his agents, and have always given him bad advice. I think he’s still well respected at Chelsea, Liverpool and Bolton. Even at Arsenal, he’s still highly regarded and with the money we got for him we ended up getting Henry. But he was really great that 97-98 season.

Paulista, still at Valencia. Won two FA Cups with us, I liked Paulista but had a bit of crazy Brazilian about him. Could be great one week but brutal the next. But he always gave it 100%.

  • He was seen as England’s next big GK and long term replacement for Seaman at Arsenal and England. Did win the League/Cup double with us. But only made 12 apps and was sold on to Everton the season after.

The man played for Man City when they were during their first run of success in the PL and didn’t play a minute. He only played 60 times for Everton over five seasons and 58 with Ipswich when he went back for two seasons. Even played a season with West Ham and didn’t play a minute.

He’s now GK coach under Pep at Man City. Don’t the coaching staff win medals too, so his cabinet must be full with them now.

  • Played over 146 times for Arsenal and scored 46 times. Won The League, FA Cup, League Cup and Cup winners Cup.

I think cause when he started to hit Wrighty was in and won Golden Boots and was always top scorer, Campbell is always overshadowed. One season in 93-94 he scored 19 goals for Arsenal wouldn’t be sniffed at by fans today but Wrighty scored 35 that season. And in the PL era I always remember him from his time with Everton.

  • He always seem to get a by from Arsenal fans cause he was a legit fan of the club. Probably had his best year of football away from Arsenal with West Ham and we probably should sold him off then. As he disappointing with his second spell there. Sold him off to Nott Forest where he only 11 apps over two seasons. Now plays in Australia.

Good lad but was probably Championship or League 1 player at best.

  • Another one of those players that went on to have a pretty decent career in the PL. And also came back to haunt us as he was part of that Birmingham side that beat us in League Cup in 2011.

Played 133 apps for Sweden, Made nearly 200 apps for both Birmingham and Sunderland. Also 40 apps for Hull. Went back to Sweden and made over 150 apps for AIK even won the league there I believe.

Not a bad career, only made 3 apps for us. Wasn’t ever a top tier player or had a sniff of getting near a top 6 PL side but was a solid player.
