  • Strictly in my opinion , without getting into what devices, etc, generally speaking, it also will fall on if you are a day to day user or power user , your usage , my answer would be yes all day every day.

A quick example I picked up a back up S21 and having the option for 8gb with the snapdragon 888 that phone is still a beast today in 2023 so yes I’m my opinion.

I also review both IOS & Android devices along with google , Xiomi etc and the s22 -S23 galaxy line on paper are def improvement with power management, from gen.1 to gen.2 (S23 ) however the day to day user isn’t going to notice a substantial difference, it’s the power users , pro pictures takers , debugging for development , running things like graphinenOS & a slew of other scenarios , that will appreciate that extra 2gb for 8gb total , and finally in just the way Android works which some may not know , because if that I will always say yes, yes, yes.

Android works differently in its allocation than say IOS , and other devices, galaxy especially. I also use xiomi, google pixel , and so on . I know everyone will have their opinion through their experience which is totally cool, I am not disregarding that in any way,but from a non biased strictly tech perspective and given my profession without giving it away , final answer is yes , pay the money and get the extra power . Does it suck ? Yes , same as storage , from 128 to 256gb is highway robbery , BUT, I personally think you will be happy with doing so. Best of luck !

  • I honestly can say using both iOS personal use and a galaxy for business. It’s not a bad trade off . Both have pros and cons but I enjoy the galaxy for sure and the freedom as a power user to do a lot of cool Linux based stuff and tinkering , however even if your not into custom OS etc, the galaxy series stick are still great in my opinion , I actually just got a s21 (2021 model) on sale for $180 and it hands with todays handsets with the snapdragon 888 . It’s a beast . I also have always used iPhones since they released and always jailbroke them , having that freedom on Android I’d pretty alright for sure . Again I like both . The point is I don’t think if your parents asking away from Apple you would be very disappointed especially with rcs coming to android (iMessage ) you get your blue bubbles:) give it a shot you can always go back
