I think Wilson was more important tbh, he is the one that scored goals. Maxi was a beast at dribbling but only had 7 goal contributions a season before Howe came in

To me it just proves how little Southgate actually watches players, or cares about what he sees. Wilson came off with an injury and has been struggling with losing his pace. He is not right for England at the minute.
