The level of International teams is clearly lower than the level in clubs. Of course, you have to compare what’s comparable: Man City will beat Argentina 9/10 times if the match was hypothetically to be played. And you can also see that the best performing national teams are the ones that have the backbone of the team playing together in clubs (Italy/juve 2006, Germany/Bayern 2014,…).
So yeah, a part of being patriotic ( which is not watching football for football) and some games that can be interesting at quarter/ semi finals in a world cup, or Europe cup, it’s really not worthy to watch to be honest and a waste of time.
