I struggle to understand Mason Mount as a player. He’s not a winger and he’s not a pure 10 either. He doesn’t have a big enough engine to be a good 8.

There is a reason they got Haaland to unlock stubborn defense. There is also a reason they rely heavily on wing play to open up space - hence they have invested heavily on wingers over the years - Sane, Sterling, Mahrez, Grealish and now Doku.

Our wing play relies heavily on Martinelli and Saka to play 1v1 or 1v2 and performing a 9/10 week in week out - not to mention we don’t have anyone nearly as prolific as Haaland for us.

One of them gets fatigued or a dip in form and our attack becomes slow and stagnant. We need better back ups and competition for those two.

Not sure why people think Ramsdale has a higher ceiling / potential.
