I’ve only just noticed that Villa are right up there in the mix as well. Emery is doing a job over there

I think they’ve snuck up on people because of their relatively poor start to the season, getting blasted 5-1 to Newcastle in GW1 gave a bad first impression. A few weeks later getting hammered by Liverpool as well. But since then they’ve only lost once.

Norway manager Solbakken about Ødegaard’s injury: “The club (Arsenal) are so reserved so I don’t know how much I should say about it. I have known so much about the injury so I’ve never really planned with Martin.” “I can say that it is a very normal football injury that you’ll very likely recover completely from and that it’s not career threatening.”

Hmm my terrible ability to read between the lines says to me hes not back after interlul.

Don’t let the late 4-4 drama distract from the fact that Anthony Taylor was demoted to the Championship for an awful call, makes another awful call in the Championship, before coming back to the PL the next week, given the biggest game of the weekend and making another terrible call for the City pen.

PGMOL remains not fit for purpose

Chelsea started looking good, the PGMOL had to act and bring out the big guns.

It’s weird to be agianst this but we’ve got to set tribalism aside for the time being!

A huge part of that was just that if the popular kid gets fucked maybe people might start payign attention when we point out…again…that the PGMOL crossed from shite to corrupt years ago.

Good morning. Arsenal have conceded the (joint-) least goals in the Prem and have the least xgA (as per fbref, understat) as well.

Welcome to the age where we have the best defence in the league.

Really hoping Mikel and Edu take a look at Guirassy, thinking he could be a genuinely strong contender for starting at ST

I doubt they will. What he’s doing in the bundesliga this season is largely a purple patch and he hasn’t shown this goal scoring prowess before. I get his release clause is only 15 million but I don’t see us targeting a 27 year old who’s only having a prolific season now.

I actually don’t hate this as a cheaper alternative to Toney. Could be a really astute signing.

Still I expect us to maybe sign a midfielder and that’s it this January

You won’t find a better showpiece for the PL than last night. Two clubs under investigation for major breaches of rules being refereed by a very questionable ref with VAR completely missing a basic infringement in one of the goals.

    “Best league in the world”.

I totally understand why Havertz fans are so defensive… there are a lot of trolls here and fans who take joy in losing/trolling and would prefer to be right than have Arsenal do well.

But some of the comments about him are very unserious, we don’t have to pretend he played well at the weekend to counteract these trolls lol.

Can’t have a normal balanced discussion about him no more, it’s either he’s somehow already showed how he’s been great or you’re gaslighting others into believing he’s not been utterly shite.

I think there’s almost no one would prefer to be right than have Arsenal do well.

And I don’t think gloating about being right about Havertz means that you’d rather be right. it means he’s proving you right until he performs consistently.

Almost no one in real life yes, but on here that’s naive to say IMO, there are a lot of people like that in online spaces.

I can understand the trolls, what I don’t understand is the fans who take joy in losing or are sitting around waiting for an “I told you so” if a player fails.

I know Chelsea was memes a lot but the thing that they have in pace in the midfield is where we are lacking that’s why they play box 4 midfield with palmer and striker pressing. My only qualm with arsenal is we don’t move the ball quickly I would call it à lot of sterile possession

Horrible video going around of racists at London Waterloo, one of them in an Arsenal shirt.

Last year people continously talked about how ‘City just weren’t the same’ and ‘they’ve fallen off’ because we were in front.

They’re now one point behind last year’s pace and not a single person has said that sentiment at all. The bias against arsenal in the media especially is astonishing.

Maybe because they’ve only just fallen behind last years pace after the Chelsea result not even 24 hours ago?

City were outperforming their results from last season until yesterday.

It’s probably because city at the start of last season were not doing well. Ppl said the same about us this season at the start. I don’t think it is sth to do with the competitors.

Also they use him as more of a winger at Chelsea

Does start as RW but he drifts in a lot. Seems very similar to Odegaard.I think he will be best as a 10 or one of the 8s in a 4-3-3.

He isn’t underpeforming and the talent is definitly there, but his decision making is shocking in my opinion. And I don’t think it’s a case of that he doesn’t see it, its just that he is incredibly selfish.

Yesterday in the first half I think there was a moment where he came barreling down the right with the ball in his feet. He had an option in Reece james overlapping, and an even better option in Gallagher at the edge of the penalty area, compeltely free. Instead he chose to try and attempt to shoot the ball through 2 or 3 City players for his trademark goal.

There were several moments like that where he really should have passed instead of going for his own glory. Will be curious to see how more senior players like Nkunku will handle his egoism.
