I think he is very talented in terms of dribbling and ball control but in recent times whenever former footballers are asked about future balon d or contenders, his name is always mentioned but he is 23 years of age now and still he is not a starter for man City ,his best position is up for debate(rw or advanced 8)and while he has put in some good performances for city I have not seen enough from him to say he will be a future balon d or contender consistently. He seems like Bernardo Silva level player to me which is a very good player but not a balon d or contender(consistently) player. He also resembles him in style quite a bit.

I think it’s a general brain-warping that comes from watching City. The team is so good that performances can often seem routine. As a Liverpool supporter, I’d love Foden (ok, his haircut would have to change; my best friend had a “Clooney” in the '90s and it looked awful back then). I don’t see the comparison between Foden and Bernardo. To me, Bernardo is a like Firmino but a midfielder, whereas Foden is more direct. If he has a big flaw, it’s that while he might be scrappy he’s not a physical presence. He’s the forward version of Andy Robertson.

In the Mbappe/Haaland era it will take something exceptional from him to win a Bd’O, but that shouldn’t be interpreted as a snub.
