He was never used correctly at Chelsea.
I mentioned in my other comment, he’s an 8, with some 10 leanings.
He’s absolutely not a false 9, hence his ‘failure’ at Chelsea. They were playing him out of position / role.

I’m confused as to why people are mentioning Havertz. They’re completely different players, why would anyone expect Havertz to be doing what Palmer has been doing (for three months)?
England is less racist than Spain.
Spain cares less about the racism problem than England does.
Young people forget old people.
Henry has been retired as long as Pele was when I started watching football.
If it was people who watched his peak - his Barcelona days do not do him full justice - that’s different.
But you’re talking about people who were kids when he played. Videos and stats only tell half the story without the context of the circumstances at the time.
A time will come where people look at Messi and Ronaldo the same way we look at Puskas, Eusebio and Di Stefano
I don’t think there are any athletes with any semblance of continued success that have achieved what they have without an exceptional work ethic.
There are many talented athletes who experience little to no success because they lack work ethic.
I think your question could be better framed in the reverse: are there SOME pro football players out there who may not have relentless work ethic and rely solely on natural talent?
Why do you watch football related content?
What would happen if you just stopped watching after the game was done?
