Truly love the classic old english stadiums that are almost extinct right now. Those that were so incorporated into the neighbour that it was a “neighbour” too. Those were you could walk to the stadium along those working class terraced houses, almost like the once you see in such as peaky blinders etc. Also the structure of the stadium itself… Hard to find more beautiful stadiums than old highburry … or villa park… A masterpiece… and all the local life that were around those stadiums… with pubs that had been there since the mourning… the corner shop were you could catch your local food. Word to think that next year another one of those (Goodison Park) will be gone…

Back in those times there were only 2 points for a win which impacted the number of goals. You had less to gain from win vs draw vs loose than you have with todays 3 points for a win system. Guess it was more draws back then.

Look at their salaries. Some keepers are among the best paid in their team, while others have 10+ players earning more than the keeper of the team.

Team sports has never generally been a norwegian thing anyways. Maybe with the exception of woman’s handball. Norwegians are individualist. You can put some ski on their feets a let them go 10, 20, 30 or 50km and “no one in the world” will beat tham". It’s some of it in football as well. Too many individualist not making a good collective/team. That was the difference in the 90s when they got to WCs and a Euro. Milan is more than football (fashion design, business, fast cars, facism/mussoini etc)… While Liverpool is purely football (if you look away from 4 guys who made a band in the 50s/60s). That makes Liverpool FC a bigger name in Liverpool than AC Milan would be in Milan. Liverpool is famous because of its football club, while Milan is not.

To some degree you can say that Liverpool are one of those town/cities that is famous because of its football… Milan would have had a name anyways. Visiting Anfield is one of Liverpools (the city’s) main-attraction, while san siro is not a main attraction of Milano…That’s the difference. Football is everything in Liverpool, while in Milano it’s just one of several thing… So howcome Milan be a bigger club, when they’re not even the most important thing in the city.
