He’s different IMO. The others in that list have/had major flaws, but Mainoo appears to have the full package for his position (to my uneducated eyes) and justifies the praise…for now. It’s all just potential of course, but I don’t see it in Garnacho for instance.

Reluctant to compare us to a team that got a lot of success. But purely in terms of style, there are comparisons to be made with Vicente del Bosque’s Spain IMO, especially in how we take the game to the parts of the pitch we want, and let it die there.
If the bottom three stays the same and continues to drift, there may be very few. It’s a weird season all-round, and if established PL teams aren’t in any danger of relegation there won’t be sackings.

He’s honestly really good. Was just ranting about how there’s so much English talent in the Championship at the moment. The kind of players England isn’t known for either—playmaking deep midfielders and the like.
Obviously we can’t spend big, but some of the best players in the Championship rn are young English DMs like Wharton, Hackney and Neil. All are multifaceted footballers—nothing like the old-school Cattermole mould.
Doubt we’d consider them, but it’s something to keep an eye on. Reckon the Championship is going to explode a source of homegrown talent in the next few years.
The good news is that there’s always a tipping point, and rule changes soon follow to improve the spectacle.
