Half of my club teams didn’t exist in the 70s, and my national team was awful in the 70s.
Then change the rule, not VAR.
It makes me far less likely to watch them.
I generally follow 4 clubs, so while I don’t exclusively watch them, they make up the vast majority of my average soccer watching on any given weekend.

I like international breaks because I like my national team more than any of my club teams.
If they knowingly did it, then yes. I don’t see a difference.
I think 5 stadiums for soccer (Legion field, PNC Field, Georgia Dome, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Nissan Stadium). That number goes up by about 15 if I include American football.
The monitor is bigger so you can see more clearly, the phone can get damaged during play, it’s easy to keep players away from the monitor because they aren’t allowed to leave the field, etc.
