  • Control means nothing unless you can exercise it for offensive and defensive supremacy. No one is unhappy with the team’s performance but the lack of attacking edge is blatantly obvious.

City is the standard in this league, they create a lot more chances against every single opponent they face. While we’re struggling to break down bottom half defenses.

You’re not winning the league with the offensive firepower we’re showing atm which is the point, last year we didn’t expect to win the title, this season we expect to finish 2nd worst case.

  • Couldn’t have written a better script for Havertz and I’m glad he got his moment finally.

Having said that, the attack still doesn’t look convincing. Way too predictable and the ruthlessness is missing when we get to the penalty area.

Credit to Brentford, they were really well organized for the entire game but this is more about our approach and how teams have found a way to neutralize the threat to a large extent. It seems we’re missing a presence in that final third. Would be interested to see how Mikel tackles this.

  • This is football fantasy, but is Osimhen realistic at all for next summer?

Hasn’t renewed his contract, City don’t need him, Bayern don’t, PSG don’t as they got Kolo and Ramos this summer, Madrid and Barca won’t mind but don’t know about the finances or the interest there, that leaves Chelsea and us in the list of potential clubs that would be interested and somewhat afford him.

Is this a game-changing signing we might miss out on to Chelsea or there can be potential interest there if the injury woes with Jesus continue?

  • The ideal situation is a combination of getting the right people for the right job and empowering them to do their jobs.

It’s no surprise, that Arteta was the first manager after Wenger who had that platform, Emery just wasn’t the right person in the long run and we can admit he wasn’t empowered by the club to do his job either like for example, Arteta has been.

Arteta just feels right from a personal standpoint and Emery’s credentials speak for themselves, but sometimes, it’s just not the right fit. That’s why he’s striving at Villa and it’s great to see that.
