Modric had a phenomenal year, won his 3rd cl in a row and rode his nation to the wc final. The only other player I would say is close is cristiano, and i would even go as far as to say he would’ve won if he never left Madrid for Juve. he was a vital part of Madrid’s ucl campaign, and i believe he scored in every knockout game that year as well. That being said, modric a key player in both club and international level, so he had the edge there.
I would also include salah because he had a GREAT year, at one point everyone believed he was the best player in the world that year. I did, and im a madrid fan. Obviously his poor wc campaign and losing the cl final affected his chances of winning the balondor
I wouldn’t even consider griezzman
