  • Everton got deducted one more point than a team that went into administration for a single FFP breach as they’re building a stadium in which the main investor left halfway through due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, giving them no competitive advantage over other PL teams. Something an independent commission backed by Leeds United refused to count.

The PL have already gone and said that this type of punishment was only for Everton and would not be used again, setting up Chelsea and Man City with a slap on the wrist. This is why everyone’s pissed.

  • Southgate is doing a good job as manager. He has been able to build a cohesive unit that can win games and go far in major tournaments. Just because he chooses players you disagree with or doesn’t blow away smaller teams like France does does not make him a bad manager. When it matters most, like in the World Cup and the Euros he delivers, and despite popular belief we DON’T know if England can do better than him. Before Southgate, England had been poor and underperforming for nigh on a decade. He at least has built a sense of unity and has a system that has outdone teams of superstars like France and Italy. Honestly the pressure the media has been focusing on him has been positive for the team as the players are no longer being attacked to the extent that they were before Southgate

  • I’m an Everton fan

I’m not saying we were at all innocent, I mean we had some shite accounting and deserve to be punished for that but in the end it was something as small as a 19M overdraft and had made the most profit from transfers out of any other team in the prem for the past 3 years. That does not deserve 10 points when a club going into administration got deducted 9.

Also Leeds, Burnley and Southampton aren’t asking for a points deduction, they want money in terms of 300M. Leeds would have finished 18th if points were deducted from us anyway and we wouldn’t even dip below Southampton if we had points deducted that season. Burnley might get some money but it will be something much smaller than their demanded 100M like near 20M.

  • Spurs have shown time and again that they deserve to be in the top 6 by consistentky finishing in the top 6. Sure they have their dips, everyone does. But that doesn’t mean that they don’t have a massive revenue stream and brand that keeps them there. The closest teams in terms of reputation are Everton and Aston Villa and these teams still are massively sidelined in the media so Spurs is still top 6 no matter how good they are at bottling
